Crime and Punishment: Justice and Second Chances

Crime is a problem that affects many societies. People can commit crimes for different reasons, such as poverty, lack of opportunities, family problems, violence, or bad decisions.
In my opinion, people who commit crimes must be responsible for their actions, and society needs laws to protect people and maintain order. However, punishment should not only be about making people suffer.
My criticism:
I think some punishment systems focus too much on punishment and not enough on rehabilitation. When people finish their sentence, they need opportunities to study, work, and change their lives. Without these opportunities, some people can return to crime.
Education and employment can be important tools to prevent crime. A person who has a second opportunity can make better decisions and contribute positively to society.
My conclusion
Justice is necessary, but rehabilitation is also important. Society should punish crimes according to the law, but it should also give people opportunities to change.
In my opinion, a good justice system should protect society, respect victims, and help offenders become better people.
